Hairdryers...

So it's an odd thing for ask for reccomendations for, but my current hairdryer is a Sassoon one and is seriously on its last legs. You know where they do that thing where they overheat and you have to wait for it to cool down before you switch it back on? Yeah, its doing that. It's lasted pretty well but I wanted to know if any of you have a hairdryer that you use and would really reccomend to people? The one I had before that was one of them Remmington Big Shot's but they don't do them anymore do they? Well I can't find any. That lasted really well too.

Let me know in the comments below..

OPI Past Present and Fuschia..

Another one that I got free with the Glamour subscription! This is my favourite of the three, I can't decide if its a bit tacky as it is a lot shimmery than it shows in the photo's - but I still love it!

OPI Lemonade Stand by your Man..

I got this free with 2 other OPI polishes and a polish remover with the Glamour Magazine subscription.

I've never worn yellow polish before (well apart from a pastel lemon) so I was very dubious

And I was right to be! It's really not right with my skin tone, I imagine it would be lovely on darker skin but its not for me.

17 Orange Soda and Models Own Fuzzy Peach

Orange Soda is one that I have had for a while and have only used once. Its a bright pastel orange which dries really quickly and is quite creamy. This is 2 coats which I think you definately need.

I noticed it looked very similar to my recent Models Own purchase Fuzzy Peach..

They look very similar in their bottles.

On the nails, Fuzzy Peach is on the middle finger and little finger, Orange soda on index and ring finger. Can you tell the difference? I can't by looking at it. When I applied Fuzzy Peach, its not as creamy but it dries quickly and the finish is excellent. It does last longer than Orange Soda, which only lasted one day before chipping, where as Fuzzy Peach lasted 3 days.

Orange Soda is £3 for 8ml where as Fuzzy Peach is £5 for 14ml.

Models Own review..

As I showed you earlier this week I made my first Models Own purchase!

You've seen my post on Golden Peach and tommorow there will be a post on Fuzzy Peach.
The blusher is in shadw Warm Glow and its a pretty coral-pink. I've read a few posts comparing it to Benefit Coralista but I don't have that so can't compare it. It applies beautifully and blends really easily. This is easily going to become my more used blush.
The Loose Shadow is in shade Mocha. Its a really lovely brown-gold glittery shade. I applied this over UDPP with a flat brush (MAC 242) and then blended it. When you blend you lose all of the colour and glitter so you have to apply it again onto the lid. Not so much of a problem as I do this with most shadows its just quite sad to see all of the sparkle disapear!

I would definately buy more of the blushers, and there is another loose shadow which is a similar colour which I want but there aren't any other colours that stand out to me.

17 Mint Choc Chip

Another messy job sorry - my new camera is showing everything up!

This is a cute blue polish, goes on easily and dries quickly. It lasted 2 days before chipping. I don't think I can pull off this colour, I found myself trying to hide my hands. I'm not sure why but it made me feel like I was a kid again and had my first nail polish on!

Recent Purchases...

I haven't bought anything for ages but I have sold quite a lot of stuff recently so I've been able to treat myself.

I got:

2 Models Own polishes in Fuzzy Peach and Golden Peach
Models Own Blush in Warm Glow
Models Own loose powder eyeshadow in Mocha
Collection 2000 Big Fake mascara
Barry M Dazzle Dust in 100 - I think its rust (free with More Magazine)
MUA eyeshadows and eye dust
Ring from Peacocks £4
Sunglasses from Peacocks £6

I was so happy to see our local Boots stocking Models Own as I really didn't expect them to get it. I'm really impressed with the things I bought and I'll do a seperate post on them.

I'll review the Collection 2000 mascara in a few weeks when I've given it a chance!

And I was also suprised to see our local Superdrug stocking MUA, again I didn't expect it as it wasn't on the list of stores with it. They had sold out of a lot of the stuff - cheap make up is obviously popular in my area! I already have one Pearl eyeshadow from them and wanted to try a couple more so I got Shade 10 and Shade 9, and I got an Eye Dust in Shade 5

From Bottom - Shade 9, Shade 10 and Eye Dust shade 5.

Considering they are only £1 they are good quality and are well pigmented. Shade 10 is really crumbly and causes terrible fallout.

And a swatch of Barry M Dazzle Dust 100

Its really glittery and pretty and my camera struggled to pick up the colour in the sun because of the glitter. The sunglasses are just for my holidays, and I bought the ring as I have wanted a big flower ring for ages but I have fat fingers and can't get dress rings to fit, when this did I had to buy it!

And lastly I bought this pefume..

Which is Diamonds from Next. I'm sure most of you will have seen a few posts on this on other blogs but its a dupe for Miss Dior. At £12 for 100ml you can't complain and is definately a more affordable alternative.

Models Own Golden Peach..

This is such a pretty summery shade I love it. I've had it for a week now and have wore it for most of that time. It lasts pretty well, 2-3 days before chipping and its really easy to apply and dries quickly. I'm really liking Models Own polishes. This is 3 coats but it looks nice with 2 coats, especially if you have a tan.

17 Mirror Shine lipstick..

One day last week I went shopping and really wanted to buy one of the new 17 lipsticks but all of the one I wanted had been opened and ruined (as is the case on most of the stands in our local boots - I actually saw a girl putting on a Barry M tester eyeliner the other day. Yes on her eye, straight from the pencil!!)

Anyway I came home and had a little rant on Twitter and the girls at 17 Cosmetics told me they would send me one. Hoorah! Ever so lovely of them. So it came and they had also put in one of their nail polishes in Baked Cherry which is a very pretty pink-red.

The lipstick is in the shade Bee Hive which is a beautiful pinky nude colour...

I won't show you the swatch on my lips at the moment as my hayfever has been so bad the past few days I have that lovely crusty skin between lip and nose and the ever so delightful spot that apears whenever I get this (I hope you appreciate me sharing this delightful info with you all!) But I will put it in a FOTD when I'm feeling better. They're really moisterising and feel lovely on your lips. Big thumbs up for this 17 I really like it.

The nail polish is from their Fast Finish collection, it does dry really quickly and in 2 coats its very opaque. You could get away with one coat if you're a one coat type of girl! However it didn't last very long, I put it on around 8pm at night and didn't do anything and I woke up the next day with rather chipped nails.

Here's a rather messy paint job for you!

Mirror Shine lipsticks can be bought from Boots for £4.49 and the nail polishes are £2.99.

My Pure Reviews...

I know so many of you will have seen these reviews on so many other blogs as they picked 50 people to review their products and everybody has the same stuff. However, they have said they'll send more personalised stuff next time which is great.

So, first we have A'kin Pure Hydrating Rose Mist. A bit of blurb from the Mypure website

"A'kin Pure Rose Hydrating Mist is a revitalising mist designed to give your skin an instant refreshing lift and enliven your complexion, while soothing even the most sensitive of skins.

Australian Bush Flower Essences, old man banksia, dog rose and tall mulla mulla are used in this mist as well as aloe barbadensis leaf juice to calm skin, and vitamins B5 to soothe skin.

Akin Hydrating Rose Mist is formulated using sodium hyaluronate (hyaluronic acid), one of the latest discoveries in natural skin care. Sodium hyaluronate is a key water maintaining component in our skin. Modern living and ageing can cause a decrease in this vital skin boosting ingredient, and as a result the water maintaining ability of the skin is weakened.

[A'kin] uses certified organic ingredients wherever possible. When a certified organic ingredient is not available the natural alternative is used instead"

I've never used anything like this before as its not something that I've been interested in. But the smell is quite nice and its really refreshing on a hot day and it does actually help your make up look fresher which is great.

This is available for £12.99 for 125ml from the mypure website http://www.mypure.co.uk/akin-skin-care-b98/?utm_source=Blogging&utm_medium=May2010&utm_campaign=AkinMist

The next product is Lovea Moroccan Argan Brilliance shine shampoo. I have heard lots of things about Argan oil being great for your hair but most of it has been when you use it pure. A lot of the reviews for this have said it doesn't lather very well but I definitely didn't have that problem, it foamed well on the first wash and even better the second one (some days I shampoo my hair twice before conditioning if I've used lots of product). The smell is really love and it reminds me of holidays. I would buy this product again as it has left my hair feeling really soft and shiny. The packaging is okay, I don't really buy shampoo for what it looks like. I do like the tube though, its easier to dispense.

You can buy this for £4.99 for 200ml from the mypure website http://www.mypure.co.uk/lovea-b136?utm_source=Blogging&utm_medium=May2010&utm_campaign=LoveaShampoo

The last product is Kosmea Eight Natural Wonder Revitalising Facial Serum, this is said to lift dull and tired skin, and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. As it is more of an anti ageing serum I gave it to my mum to test out as I'm only 24 and I don't feel I need to use this type of product at the moment. I also didn't like the smell of it or how it felt on my sometimes oily skin.

My mum liked the smell of it and found it soaked into the skin easily, but the pump kept squirting a lot of product out and it went everywhere. She said it has made her skin feel a lot softer and she has noticed a little bit of difference. My dad says she looks glowy and shiny when she wears it haha! But I think he likes how it makes her look as on Sunday he kept telling her to put it on.

You can buy this from the Mypure website for £24.99 for 20 ml or £49.99 for 50 ml
http://www.mypure.co.uk/kosmea-b142?utm_source=Blogging&utm_medium=May2010&utm_campaign=Kosmea8thDay

Mypure only stock products that have not been tested on animals, and that are Sulfate and Paraben free.

These products were sent to me for review purposes, I am not paid for my reviews and they are all 100% honest based on my own experience's.
